Geoff Cooke
Founder and Principal Consultant of GCA Group | Masters of Project Management
Geoff Cooke is the Founder and Principal Consultant of GCA Group, an advisory firm that
helps purpose-led organisations strengthen their governance, secure funding and deliver
important projects. He holds a Master of Project Management and Business degrees, and
brings that academic grounding to every engagement.
Geoff specialises in community, not-for-profit and industry body work, along with grant and
funding projects. At GCA Group his approach is guided by three values: partnership, clarity
and impact. He works alongside clients, makes complexity understandable and measures
success by the value created for the organisation and the community it serves.
His passion is people. Geoff is at his best developing talent within teams and bringing
together talented people to design and execute front running projects. He believes the
strongest outcomes come when the right people are united around a clear purpose and given
room to excel.
That belief extends beyond client work. Geoff is the former President of the RMIT PMC,
where he supported emerging project professionals and connected them with industry. He
continues to give back as a Career Mentor, with a particular focus on postgraduate
recruitment, helping graduates present their capability with confidence and step into their first
roles in the profession.
Geoff is also working with leaders in the field of project management research on better ways
to bring the best of the best from other fields into project management. Building on that work,
he will begin his PhD next year.
At the Agile Symposium, Geoff brings a practical, people first view of how organisations can
build capability, unlock talent and deliver projects that make a real difference.
